the wildest cocker spaniel puppy ever
..supposedly all grown up now!
My real name is Benchmark Corazon and I was born in Kellokoski on March 27th, 2002. I have two sisters, Charlotte ("Lotta") and Carioca. On the day I was born I was already a pretty big puppy. My sister caught up with me briefly, but since I'm a boy, it didn't take a very long time for me to become bigger again. And bigger. And even bigger. I grew up so quickly that it got my "mum" a bit worried - after all, she already had one slightly oversized cocker spaniel (Romppu), so what if this one would grow up to be just as large (or even larger)...? Well, luckily I decided to stop growing and ended up just fine. ;)
My hobbies at the moment include fetching whatever they throw at me, for me, and even the stuff they don't intend for me to fetch. I also enjoy running about in the woods and around the neighbourhood (on leash, of course..) - and yes, I still do enjoy those meals and the occasional snack now and again, too.. oh yes, please, serve me some more food...!? Anyone...? Anything..?! Like any cocker spaniel, I'm pretty much the Garfield of dogs. And who knows, I might love lasagna just as much as he does: too bad these people won't give me any! =(
I'm absolutely nuts about my new hobby, agility. Mum says I make more noise than a pack of wolves, howling and yelling ecstatically, whenever I peer through the car window and see the training grounds where dad takes me to practise almost every week. Too bad we have to drive by pretty often when it isn't practise time and this makes my mummy lose her marbles.. she says that my ever so tiny little spells of enthusiasm aren't very pleasant when they happen inside the car.. but mummy dearest, I just love my agility sooo much that it's kinda hard to keep the joy of it all to myself - I just have to let everyone know it's my absolute favourite hobby... really... love it! (just keep your ear plugs on while driving past the grounds and don't whine, mum ;) )
Another hobby of mine (or maybe it's work for me and a hobby for my owners?) is going to dog shows... we do this every once in a while, with more or less success. My "mum" thinks with more... she has decided to keep in mind and appreciate every single drop of recognition I get. I on the other hand enjoy those extra treats ;) But mum claims I enjoy being in the show ring, too.. and maybe it's true? Anyway I love to be at the shows because I enjoy being where the action is and all those gorgeous girls are.. Maybe that's why I act so proud even in the ring. Mum is very grateful to my breeders for making me look my very best in those show rings and for putting up with my somewhat energetic ring behaviour... Whaaat? Like there could be anything wrong with the way I act?!
I _really_ couldn't care less even if my sister Charlotte is trying to eat my other sister, Carioca... Why? Nothing personal, just that when you are only 4 weeks old you tend to get too sleepy for heroic deeds - sometimes. Here I am, wide awake again and looking very smart... well, very cute at least?
That's me in the middle... for more pictures of me on my former "baby page" click this picture. The photos of the baby page courtesy of kennel Benchmark Here I am, at the Kukkaisviikot (Flower weeks) in Tampere (26.7.2002), 4 months old and already in a parade! That's me in the middle.
